1.5 Carat Lab Grown Diamond Rings, IGI Certified

1.5ct sits between the most common engagement ring size and statement territory. A 1.5ct round brilliant diamond measures approximately 7.4mm in diameter, noticeably larger than 1ct without moving into the size range where rings become impractical for daily wear.

This collection covers 1.5ct lab grown diamond rings in solitaire, halo, and three-stone settings in 14K and 18K gold. All diamonds are IGI or GIA certified. Diamond rings for women at this size occupy a sweet spot for buyers who want a larger stone without the price jump to 2ct. Part of the wider lab grown diamond rings collection.

Lab grown diamonds at 1.5ct are real diamonds, identical in composition to mined stones of the same weight. Goenka Jewellers has manufactured 1.5ct diamond rings in Kolkata since 2006.

1.5 Carat Ring Styles in This Collection

1.5ct Solitaire Rings

A single 1.5ct diamond in a four-prong or six-prong setting. Available in round brilliant, oval, pear, emerald, and cushion cuts. At 1.5ct, elongated shapes like oval and pear become particularly effective because they cover more visible surface area. See the solitaire rings collection.

1.5ct Halo Rings

A 1.5ct centre diamond with a halo of smaller stones adding 0.2ct to 0.35ct total. At this size, a halo creates a substantial overall appearance, often visually comparable to a 2ct solitaire.

1.5ct Three-Stone Rings

A 1.5ct centre diamond flanked by two smaller side stones, typically 0.25ct to 0.4ct each. Total carat weight in the range of 2ct to 2.3ct across three stones. A substantial design choice for buyers who want significant total diamond weight distributed across multiple stones.

1.5ct Engagement Rings

For buyers moving beyond the standard 1ct engagement ring. Available in 18K gold with Excellent-cut diamonds. See the dedicated engagement rings collection for the full range of settings.

1.5ct Cocktail Rings

1.5ct total weight distributed across cluster or multi-stone designs. See the cocktail rings collection for cluster arrangements at this weight.

What 1.5 Carat Looks Like

Diameter. A 1.5ct round brilliant diamond measures approximately 7.4mm across, compared to 6.4mm for 1ct. The increase from 1ct to 1.5ct is more visually significant than the carat number alone suggests, because diamond size relates to volume, and a 50% increase in weight produces a noticeable jump in diameter.

Settings at this size. 1.5ct diamonds work well in lower-profile settings because the stone itself provides sufficient visual presence without needing an elevated mount. This makes 1.5ct practical for buyers who want size without sacrificing daily wearability.

How to Choose a 1.5 Carat Diamond

Shape becomes more important at this size. Round brilliant remains the most popular, but oval, cushion, and emerald cuts at 1.5ct create distinctly different looks. Oval at 1.5ct appears notably elongated and can look larger than its actual carat weight.

Cut quality. At 1.5ct, an Excellent-cut diamond shows dramatically more fire and brilliance than a Good-cut diamond of the same size. The visual difference between cut grades becomes more pronounced as carat weight increases.

Setting weight and comfort. A 1.5ct stone in a heavy setting adds noticeable weight to the hand. For buyers concerned about daily comfort, a lighter prong setting with fewer metal accents keeps the ring wearable.

Lab Grown vs Natural 1.5 Carat Diamond Rings

Lab grown diamonds and natural diamonds differ only in origin and price:

•     Carbon structure: Identical in both. Same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, same refractive index, same brilliance.

•     Certification: Both carry IGI or GIA grading certificates with full 4Cs documentation.

•     Price: Lab grown costs 60 to 75% less than a natural diamond of the same cut, colour, and clarity grade.

•     Origin: Lab grown from a CVD or HPHT laboratory. Natural from earth-mined sources.

•     Secondary market: Lab grown has a lower secondary resale market at this time. Natural diamonds have an established resale market. Worth knowing before purchase.

A 1.5ct Excellent-cut, G colour, VS2 clarity lab grown diamond ring in 18K gold costs approximately Rs.1,30,000 to Rs.1,70,000 at Goenka. The same specification in a natural diamond starts at Rs.3,50,000 or more.
